In short, a brand audit assess a brand’s visual identity against the businesses plan, brand strategy, brand values and vision. We assess how a brand is perceived, what its strengths and weaknesses are, and how well known and regarded it is. A brand audit also extends to a review of all brand communications, marketing materials, advertising, and corporate identity elements to see how consistent they are and how well they function to represent the desired brand image.

What’s involved in a brand audit?
Our brand audits are delivered one-on-one with the brand owner or brand manager. We provide a report assessing your brand’s identity against the businesses plan, brand strategy, brand values and vision. We also provide a competitor analysis to benchmark your brand and identify competitive advantages.
- Review and discuss brand image and positioning
- Review and discuss all your branding communication; stationery, signage, website, print marketing and advertising material, they are all integral consumer touch-points that communicate your business’s story and brand message to your audience.
- Review and discuss all sales and presentation material
- Review and discuss your website message and how it’s been working for you
- Review and discuss new areas to capture a customer’s interests
The process then involves analysis of the findings and upon completion, a detailed report including suggestions. Any gaps between the business strategy and its visual representation are identified. We will then provide you with a proposal based on the solutions and action plan for addressing these gaps, goals and objectives.
When should a brand audit take place?
Annually, like your tax. A brand audit should take place once a year, following the release of your business’ brand strategy. Marketing your brand image should always be a major focus for your business, the introduction of fresh ideas, strategies and innovative campaigns can produce substantial results.
